Cameron Verstegen Cutting Horses is based in Eagle Point, Oregon, where Cameron and his wife Bonnie conduct their business from their own facility.  Cameron, who has won several futurities and made countless finials throughout the Northwest and Canada, is one of the industry's leading young trainers.

Cameron began training horses by working for a small reining cow horse trainer while still in High School and progressed to working for cutting horse trainers, most notably Phil Hanson, Jr.  Cameron and his wife Bonnie moved back to the Rogue Valley in 2005 to start their own cutting horse training program.  Several years of climbing the ranks, so to speak, gave Cameron the opportunity to develop his own style of training, the basis of which is to train each horse as an individual.  Cameron’s training focuses on the attributes of each horse without taking away their personality or heart.

Cameron's first aged event horse he had trained was a mare named Lil Miss N Texas. Making his first futurity finials aboard Lil Miss N Texas to an outstanding score of 224 and won the Finals at the El Rancho Futurity.  The daughter of Yellow Roan Of Texas had the crowd whistling and cheering with her performance.  She was the last horse in the last set in the finals that began with 103 entries.  The event was held at the brand new cutting facility built by Carol Ward at the Murieta Equine Complex in Murieta, California.

Following his break-out success, with Lil Miss N Texas, Cameron has showcased his success at weekend shows and limited aged events throughout the Northwest, Pacific Coast and Canada.

"I have been blessed with the opportunity to train and show some remarkable cutting horses. I admire and focus on their strengths, which over time will out measure their weaknesses."
